Rusty problem anyone? Georgie knows the answer

Georgie has conducted an investigation brought about by necessity. What would you do if your tacklebox went rusty? Here is her solution:

Some of you might just think its a waste of coke!
Thanks for this report Georgie

Australian forests anyone?

Rowan went to the forest and found a rather interesting fruit.
Read all about it here:

Let's get some articles from those of you who have not submitted yet.

Rowan's return

Rowan brings us news from halfway across the world. He has found some interesting signs in Australia.....Well I'll leave him to tell you the rest here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rg9srz562ty499n/Rowan%27%20science%20thing.pdf
Do you know any other animals or plants that have been introduced into different areas of the world either deliberately or by mistake? Often they are very disruptive and muck up the local ecosystem.
Thanks for this interesting piece Rowan.

First film contribution

So here we have it the first film of an experiment conducted by two intrepid 8S scientists ably assisted by a sister. Well done team
Anything you could have done to improve reliability?

Harry makes a contribution

Well here is, what we were all waiting for,- Harry has shared his interesting time bridge building.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j3yc5e9dswbovwh/Harry%27s%20expt%201.pdf
See what you make of his construction. The discussion about pressure is very interesting and must be a big factor in civil engineering.
Thinking about constructions we still have a few places left on Trebuchet Day, 3rd September, when the Science and History depts. combine to research and build a trebuchet. Want to join us and fire rocks etc. across the new field?
Anyway Harry then must have had inspiration from Polly as he looks at water balloons.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1t2cereqdqunqbf/Harry%27s%20expt%202.pdf
Harry did you actually try heating the balloons or is it all theoretical? Do you think he could have proved his research with an experiment or two? Perhaps if all of 8S have a go then we can show the reliability of this research.

Here an interesting thing

Olly has noticed this in the paper.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/95lbfr52us95r3v/FRANKENBURGER.pdf
Very topical and scientific. What do the rest of 8S think of this? Shall we do a quick survey? Let me know....
1) if you would eat a frankenburger?
2) do you think this is a good way to produce food?
3) Is it more ethical than killing cows?
4) What do you think it should be called?
Try to get the answers to these questions to me in the next few days and I will post the results.
If you found this interesting then you might like to google "vertical farming" and see the latest ideas in vegetable production.
Happy hols

More summer experiments

Here we have two more experiments from Polly, the prolific experimenter, is there no limit to her work, and Ollie's first offering. Where Polly is going for quantity Ollie has added loads of detail and so looks like the quality contender.
