Year 7 are dissecting

Year 7 pupils got to examine the heart and lungs of lambs today.
First they identified the organs.
And labelled them
Making sure to identify all they could.
Once everything was clear
They had the opportunity to cut into the organs
And examine their structure
This included using a syringe to blow up sections of the lungs.
Which would turn bright pink if you inflated a bronchiole.
They examined the trachea
And the heart
The diaphragm
And the oesophagus
And identified the difference between arteries and veins
These lambs organs are just a little smaller than human ones.
Some potential surgeons or butchers were identified and a couple who discovered a more queasy side.
