What does the owl say?

Year 8 are studying the ecology of owls. 

Do you know what these are?

They are owls pellets sent to us from an owl sanctuary in Wales. 

We can separate the fur and bones that the owls cough up and see what they have eaten. 

First we need to soak the pellet

Then you need to tease the pellet apart

And find the skulls, ribs and other bones

Then we can identify which animal the bones come from. 

It's fiddly work.
