7A started their work on photosynthesis by investigating how water gets into the plants and then up to the leaves.
Some microscopy was involved
They looked at the roots with the microscopes to see if they could spot the root hair cells that help absorb the water from the soil.
The they set up carnations with ink and water to drink!
Ink was put into one pipette bulb and water into another
the selected flower stalk was bisected with much care
Full sets of fingers are required for the rest of the work!
Once the stalk was divided along its length the ends were placed in the two pipette bulbs
Some ink needed topping up
And then flower arranging could commence.
Now we leave it for a few days and see the result
What do you expect to happen?
