Where do plants get their food from?

7C are investigating where the raw materials for photosynthesis come from. They have set up the ink up the stem experiement.

 Then laurel leaves were coated in nail varnish so we can make stoma prints.

 You need a few coats so drying the varnish takes a while.

 Then add another coat

 Waft it dry

 Tomorrow we will be able to take off the varnish and look at the stoma prints under the microscope.

By then the carnations might look interesting too.
